The Ayurvedic term used to refer to ginger was Vishwabhesaj, which meant – universal medicine.

There are many ways and reasons to incorporate ginger into your diet. I use ginger to make tea or add to different dishes as a spice. Ginger is proven to lower bad cholesterol levels and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. It is also a great remedy to nausea and menstrual pain, due to its anti-inflammatory powers and high magnesium content.

100 gr. of ginger have 50 kcal, 1.1 gr. of dietary fibers, 5 mg of vitamin C and 43 mg of magnesium.
