Juice of the day: green energy

I love to start my morning with green juice. It gives me a boost of energy and helps to start a day on a positive note. Recently I’ve become a fan of simple green juice. Now you know that greens are very important part of my life and I would love if they would became important for you as well.

I prefer my green juices almost without fruits and sweetness. I’ve trained myself enough and easily can drink a simple juice with kale, celery, lemon and ginger. For beginners I suggest to start making juices with green apples or pineapple, but remember – the more fruits you add, the more sugar you have, which means more calories.
My favorite greens are Spinach, celery, Kale, cucumber, dandelion, parsley, cilantro, Bok Choy. I usually get it all organic or from local farms. It is very important to know where is your greens are from. Because if they are grown up in a farm that use antibiotics and pesticides, it doesn’t matter that they are green – they will not help your body.
If you would like to make your green juice more tasty you may consider to add some limes or lemon. You can cut out the skin of your lemons if you want to avoid the bitter taste. I personally don’t mind it. Also, fresh ginger will add an excellent taste and twist to your green juice.

Greens produce chlorophyll, which provides your body with oxygen and help to release stored toxins in the body. Chlorophyll molecule has magnesium that is essential for efficient calcium utilization. Thanks to green juice, you will absorb calcium better. Plus, get enough of Vitamins A and C, which are also important factors for calcium absorption. Your hemoglobin will get elevated, improving the blood circulation as a result and giving your body a boost of energy. Even one green juice a day will help to cleanse your digestive system, lungs, liver and uterus.
Green juice is perfect for you if you are a smoker. If you live in an area when you usually don’t get enough of sunshine, green juice will help your body to get Vitamin D. No wonder it is called “stored sunshine”.

The preparation process for the green juice is very simple. You only need a slow juicer and fresh organic or local seasonal ingredients.

For our “Juice of the day: green energy” you are going to need:

Ingredients
• 1 green Apple
• Hand full of Parsley
• 2 stalk of Celery
• 1 Fennel bulb
Lemon, if necessary
