Vegan hummus

Hummus is a naturally vegetarian and vegan spread that is a popular amongst vegans as it is extremely easy to cook, all ingredients are easily available and it’s a great source of protein.

In my recipe, I use a chickpeas instead of beans and add some fresh ingredients to make it tasty and healthy.

1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of cumin
2 hand full of chickpeas
Olive oil
½ cup of water
½ avocado
2 teaspoons of lemon juice

Start preparation for your vegan hummus the day before. First of all, soak you chickpeas overnight. Next day you need to boil them with a bit of salt for about 40 minutes until they are very soft.
Take the chickpeas out of the water and let them cool down for a couple of hours. When they are cold, put them inside the blender, add other ingredients I mentioned in recipe and mix them up. A little secret from me: you probably noticed, that I add some water to the blender. I prefer to use water that’s left after I boiled chickpea – it’s more concentrated and flavored.
